Sweeney Todd is my favorite movie of all-time, and whenever I hear this song I always think about Sweeney, Mrs. Lovett, and Lucy Barker. It's almost as if this song was written for them. The story that I came up with that goes along with the lyrics is rather sad, but at least Mrs. Lovett doesn't die in the end. She is my favorite character in the film, so that scene is always disheartening to watch. I hope that you enjoy my Sweeney Todd fan-fiction video, and do let me know what you think. Thanks so much for watching!!!
Song: "Lucy" - Skillet
Story: Benjamin Barker returns to his previous home in London, and wonders what has happened to his wife Lucy. Mrs. Lovett befriends him, and comforts him in his sorrow. Fueled by the rage he feels for losing Lucy, Mr. Barker becomes Sweeney Todd. He unearths his old razors, and murders Judge Turpin, the man who stole his wife from him. Since meeting Mrs. Lovett, Sweeney has realized that he has feelings for Mrs. Lovett, but is afraid to let go of the love he feels for Lucy. Mrs. Lovett loves him with all of her heart, and would do absolutely anything for him. After killing the Judge, Sweeney then finds the body of Lucy. He is devastated, and Mrs. Lovett is left to witness how much more she means to him than she does. Sweeney dances with Mrs. Lovett one last time, before leaving her for his poor wife. That is when Mrs. Lovett realizes that Sweeney doesn't love her, and that all of her dreams could never come true. She runs upstairs and sits with Toby, who helps to comfort her. Meanwhile, Sweeney, holding Lucy in his arms, takes out his razor and puts an end to his own life. Later, Mrs. Lovett and Toby go to the basement to check on him, and Mrs. Lovett is devastated to find Sweeney gone. As time passes, she misses the man she loved, and will always remember the one he loved more.
Lyrics:
"Where is Lucy? Where is my wife?"
Hey Lucy, I remember your name, I left a dozen roses on your grave today, I'm in the grass on my knees, wipe the leaves away, I just came to talk for a while, got some things I need to say...
Now that it's over I just wanna hold her, I'd give up all the world to see, That little piece of heaven looking back at me, Now that it's over I just wanna hold her, I've gotta live with the choices I made, And I can't live with myself today...
Hey Lucy, I remembered your birthday, They said it'd bring some closure to say your name, I know I'd do it all different if I had the chance, But all I've got are these roses to give, And they can't help me make amends...
Now that it's over I just wanna hold her, I'd give up all the world to see, That little piece of heaven looking back at me, Now that it's over I just wanna hold her, I've gotta live with the choices I made, And I can't live with myself today...
Here we are, Now you're in my arms, I never wanted anything so bad, Here we are for a brand new start, Living the life that we could've had, Me and Lucy walking hand in hand, Me and Lucy never wanna end, Just another moment in your eyes, I'll see you in another life, in heaven, Where we never say goodbye...
Now that it's over I just wanna hold her, I'd give up all the world to see, That little piece of heaven looking back at me, Now that it's over I just wanna hold her, I've gotta live with the choices I made, And I can't live with myself today...
Here we are, Now you're in my arms, Here we are for a brand new start, I've gotta live with the choices I made, And I can't live with myself today...
Me and Lucy walking hand in hand, Me and Lucy never wanna end, I've gotta live with the choices I made, And I can't live with myself... Today...
Hey Lucy, I remember your name...
