There may be many reasons why people become enemies, many of which are entitled to, or at least understandable. However, there is no reason for someone because of his enmity of his religion or belief. There is nothing cheaper and silly, laugh about the religion than the others.

Es mag viele Gründe geben, warum Menschen zu Feinden werden, viele davon sind berechtigt, oder zumindest nachvollziehbar. Es gibt jedoch keinen Grund, jemanden wegen seiner Religion oder seines Glaubens anzufeinden. Es gibt auch nichts billigeres und einfältigeres, als über die Religion der Anderen zu spotten.

The vilification of the simple one has to listen with equanimity.

I formulate it somewhat differently:

Die Schmähungen der Einfältigen muss man sich mit Gleichmut anhören.

Ich formuliere es etwas anders:
Wenn ich durch den Zoo am Affenhaus vorbeiginge und ein Bewohner von diesem streckte mir sein Hinterteil entgegen, würde ich meinen Weg gelassen fortsetzen und auf eine Diskussion mit dem Affen über sein Handeln verzichten.
