About this user
The purpose of my channel is to showcase rare (and mostly piano) music by marginalized composers. My channel offers a diverse collection of music that should appeal to most listeners whose tastes lean towards piano music of the 19th and 20th centuries. I would like to upload many modern and contemporary works, but acquiring the scores is difficult. I will never upload anything before or from the classical period; only post-Beethoven.
Most of my videos are "audio + score" videos, i.e., videos featuring scrolling scores and music so the viewer may follow along with the music if he or she chooses. I will also occasionally upload videos of pieces without scrolling scores, especially chamber music or contemporary works.
I am particularly passionate about Soviet music of the 1920s and as long as this channel exists, I will continue to upload piano music from the Scriabinists (disciples of Scriabin's music) and the early 20th-century Soviet modernists (the so-called Avant-Garde). Many "classical music" listeners think Scriabin, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, and Shostakovich are the extent of worthy pianist-composers to emerge from Russia. However, after decades of repression beginning in the era of Stalin, many fine composers active in early 20th-century Russia were purged from the history books and public knowledge.
Composers like Mosolov, Roslavets, and LouriƩ, who should be regarded as Russian musical giants, are barely known today. Samuil Feinberg, who even to the piano connoisseurs is only revered for his pianism, not his compositional output, is a phenomenal composer and I pity Scriabin fans who don't know his works.
It is not my intention to infringe on copyright by posting this music or fragments of the scores. If you see a video that you strongly disapprove of being uploaded, please send me a message and I will remove it. However, I hope that by exposing this neglected corner of the piano literature, many viewers will want to buy the recordings. Indeed, if you like a composer or piece I've uploaded, please find the CD on Amazon and buy it.
My eternal gratitude to pianophilia's members, Classical Music Sheets Library, tarakanov.net, and IMSLP for providing these scores to the public.

For those who like Roslavets' solo piano music, I highly recommend investigating his chamber works. Check out his violin sonatas on the Naxos label and the cello sonatas on Chandos.
I have uploaded most of the major works from these recordings and also the piano trios from a rare out-of-print Teldec release.
The Violin Sonata No. 4, Meditation for cello and piano, Piano Trio No. 2, and the 'Lento' movement from the Piano Trio No. 4 are exemplary.
