Virus T
The main virus used by Umbrella, and is responsible for the creation of most their bioweapons. The only thing that can beat the virus and to prevent you from becoming a zombie is the Anti-Virus.
Doctor James Marcus succeeded in creating the T-Virus at the Arklay Labs on December 4, 1978 through synthesis of the Progenitor virus and leech DNA. Through this synthesis, the photosensitivity of the early Progenitor strain was replaced with pyrosensitivity. The research and development of the virus have become a key issue in Resident Evil history. It truly began showing importance upon the death of Marcus, when Drs. Albert Wesker and William Birkin stole the research to initiate development of a virus of mass destruction.
The T-Virus operates similarly to most other viruses in the Resident Evil series, but also has the abilities to infect dead tissue (differing from real-world viruses), and to power corpses back to life by continuous destruction of the neuronal networks and mitochondria in cells, decreasing motor and higher brain functions, leaving only enough intelligence to allow for feeding and propagating the contagion. The energy created by these acts damages the host body's response capabilities, and often makes it slow and mindless; many times it is also driven into a furious rage. It has the capability to substantially mutate its host as well, and to infect any tissue in virtually any type of host; creatures as salamanders and elephants have been affected the same way as human beings, and even crows and lions are viable carriers.
By the mutagenic process of the virus, most of the body's systems, such as the circulatory or respiratory systems, are made redundant. However, this process has the drawback of severe necrosis in the host, and produces the distinctive rotted appearance of most casually-infected Bio-Organic Weapons. The mutations are produced when the virus incorporates itself into the host's RNA and considerably alters it. Creatures with genetic structures different than humans generally show less severe mutations, and usually only increase in size and aggressiveness. This is due to a side effect of the virus' cannibalization of its host, specifically its digestion of the host's frontal lobes. The virus also damages the hypothalamus, which results in a flood of neurotransmitters, enzymes, and hormones which induce a psychopathic rage and hunger in the host.
The T-Virus and its various strains have been used to infect countless walks of life in the past. As it often the most transmissible of the Umbrella Corporation's biological weapons, many lifeforms are accidentally infected upon each new outbreak; even plants have been known to evolve horrifically upon exposure to it. Insects often increase to many times their original sizes, while virtually all infectees develop a taste for a carnivorous diet or at least a blood-based one. Other random, bizarre mutations are known to occur, but most often are one of a kind, and thus are unlikely to be ever repeated.

Umbrella Corp. is a pharmaceutical company that perform genetics experiments unknown to the public.
The Umbrella Corporation was founded by Ozwell E. Spencer in 1968. Dr. James Marcus and Lord Edward Ashford (explained in Resident Evil 0) were also involved in the formation of the company, but they were far more interested in the potential uses of the "Progenitor Virus" (the base for the T-Virus), a new type of virus the three men had discovered during the 1960s in a jungle near Africa.
Umbrella had many research facilities and different kinds research being done on various viruses G-virus, T-Virus, Nemesis parasite. It was said by researcher Albert Wesker that the military potential of the T-virus would never make up for the cost of research and production, and that the Arklay facility seemed to be deliberately placed in an area where any leak would cause an uncontrollable outbreak.
Spencer eventually started o dislike Marcus due to Marcus being in his way to keep his position as Umbrella corporation key figure.
Downfall
Umbrella's state was failing to improve after the release of the T-Virus in Raccoon City. The US government annihilated the city with a nuclear missile. This was done with the help from Spencer so he could cover it up. Umbrella Corporation used legal proceedings to escape from any problems even after they had witnesses against them. After the Raccoon City incident the Us government started to investigate Umbrellas business practices. Several more problems ensured umbrella's downfall.
On an island called Sheena an Umbrella senior executive. (Vincent Goldman), unleashed the T-Virus on its citizens to cover up his business on the island. A survivor of the Raccoon City incident helped stop Goldmans plans. The Umbrella Corporation has many military soldiers, for many purposes.
Umbrella Security Service (Special Forces)
They are trained at the Rockfort Island Facility.
They are normally dressed in solid grey color, wearing protective vests and gas masks. They report to the highest ranking offices of Umbrella. They are very secretive and keep a small size. They are ex military, highly trained and so are not considered expendable.
Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service
Many of the squads are placed in Raccoon City to search for survivors and help contain the zombie plague. They were also employed to gain reliable data on Umbrellas biological weapons.
The UBCS was founded by former Soviet Colonel Sergei Vladimir. The service is mainly composed of "nightmen", mostly former mercenaries and war criminals recruited by Umbrella and trained to deal with "problems caused by illegal products."
Supervisors
The Supervisors are part of an internal espionage organization within Umbrella meant to monitor suspicious activity among its own employees. Supervisors are usually placed throughout the corporation and maintain the image of normal employees in order to help them conduct their spy activities. Several Supervisors were placed among the UBCS. Their orders range from spying on fellow employees and destroying evidence to cleanup operations, including assassinations if required.
Umbrella Trashsweepers unit
Cleaners appear to have uniforms similar to those of Umbrella's Special Forces Unit, with body armor, gas masks, and gray battle dress uniforms. Their role is to destroy all evidence of a viral outbreak, including survivors.
