Hi Excidium. I like your silver collection. Ive invested in precious metals too, but not nearly as extensive as you. About the Silver Eagles, If you would like to know a little about them, on the eagle side of the coin, you see that the eagle has 13 stars above, they represent the 13 original british colonies, also the shield has 13 stripes. In the right claw it holds an olive branch (the sign of peace) of 13 leaves also. In the left claw the arrows represent war, but the eagles head is turned to the right to prefer peace , however it holds the arrows closer to its body than it does the olive branch. The 11 tail feathers of the eagle represent the 11 court justices of the supreme court.

Thank you. don't know how to use ebay and selling to a mint sounds safer. A dealer called Weitz in Pittsburgh were paying $100.00 below for a 1 oz. Krand and selling theirs for over 100.00 above. I called
3 others dealers and same thing.

why do dealers offer to buy my coins below spot price and sell me coins with a premium above spot price. Hmmmmm.... could it be greedy capitalism?

I wouldn't invest until you can be assured of getting at least the spot price when selling back your bullion.

@dak9779 trust me silver is probably in more things than oil, don't get me wrong oil will probably do very well indeed in the coming years - as will most commodities, I think we're probably arguing with one will be first and which will be second lol.

Thanks for the information, but I doubt that silver is used as much as oil is. It just seems like everything that we make is made out of oil, including our energy which is so very vital. Silver, to me, is a great metal, but it can be replaced with other metals, even though they may not perform as well, it can still be done. We can adapt to different metal use. Maybe I'm wrong...(that's why I buy some silver! haha)

@dak9779 Yes we do use oil in alot of things, but did you know silver has over 10,000 industrial applications? I doubt oil has that many - maybe a few hundred. And we will run out of silver before oil.

Gold is only a store of wealth as a precious metal, silver has both its standing as a precious metal and industrial meaning it gets used up - I don't care for gold, if I had any I'd sell it and buy more silver.
