Music: Eru (이루) (born in New York, USA on July 5, 1983) is the stage name of South Korean singer Jo Sung Hyun. He is the son of popular trot singer, Tae Jin Ah. Eru attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. He entered the k-pop scene himself during a break from Berklee College of Music Before releasing his first album, Eru underwent two years of strict training. Eru's debut album included works from musicians such as Joo Young Hoon, Lee Hyun Jung, the composer of Big Mama's Break Away. And vocal trainer No Young Joo, who trained BoA, Fly to the Sky, and Lee Soo Young. Also a 100-member string orchestra participated in his debut album. Eru's Black Glasses has gained popularity among young people. Black Glasses topped on- and offline charts. This song has won many awards, including Jukeon's song of the month (October of 2006) and SBS's Bonsang Award. Eru's Black Glasses music video features Kim Hyun Joong of SS501 and Lee Young Ah. Eru then promoted his second song White Snow, which he composed himself. Eru has recently appeared in Magolpi's debut music video where his role is a composer along with six other Korean artists, including Kim Jang Hoon, Park Joon Hyung of G.O.D., Micky YooChun of TVXQ, and Hee Chul, Kang In, and Shin Dong of Super Junior. In March of 2007, Eru received an offer to appear in a Japanese movie titled Three Tattoos. Eru's agency stated that it is quite tempting since the movie is being directed by Sukimori Hitomi and will likely be exported overseas. Eru's agency also stated that Eru may reject the offer as he has yet to establish himself in Korea as an artist.In march 2007, he and his father filmed the Chamisul Fresh Commercial. Eru rolls out yet another impressive release with his third album, Eru Vol. 3- Eru Returns, which he released on Sept.19,2007. Title song "Because We Are Two" a.k.a "It's the Two of Us", produced by MINUKI accentuates Eru's unique vocal style and creates subtle ripples in the hearts of listeners. Recently, the press has been buzzing about his new music video, which was introduced to the public prior to the release of the album. By inviting A-list celebrities like Ahn Sung Ki and Park Joong Hoon to appear in his music video, Eru proves that his influence in the Korean entertainment industry stretches far beyond the music sector. The album also features "Did You Love Me", an easy-listening ballad with violin accompaniment written by Eru himself. Those musical genes sure come in handy. Awesome videos, keep it up! Eru is one of my most favorite solo artists out there :) He has the voice and the looks, despite the fact that a lot of people don't think he is that charming in comparison to other solo artists :(
