HLPC, Cultural Medallion: Harry Lloyd Hopkins, May 6 2013
Installment of the Cultural Medallion honoring Harry Lloyd Hopkins on May 6, 2013 at the Christodora House in New York City. Hopkins was being honored for his work at the Settlement House and his implementation of the Social Security Act and leadership of the Works Progress Administration under President Roosevelt in 1935. The ceremony was led by Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel, who established the Cultural Medallion program for the Historic Landmarks Preservation Center. -

HLPC, Cultural Medallion: Miles Davis, May 16, 2013
Installment of a Cultural Medallion honoring Miles Davis on May 16, 2013 at the apartment on West 77 St. in New York City where he lived from 1960-1983. Davis was a trumpeter, composer, and band leader whose 1959 album _Kind of Blue_ is held to be the best-selling jazz record ever. While living at this site, Davis produced the celebrated album _Bitches Brew_. The ceremony was led by Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel, who established the Cultural Medallion Program for the Historic Landmarks Preservation Center, and includes speakers and musical performances. -
