Little bit about myself - I'm 18, and am a resident of Firestone Park, Ohio, which is a suburb of southern Akron. I grew up in Ravenna (lived there from birth in 1993 to 2004). It was there that I really took to my fascination of trains.
It all started back in 1999 or 2000, when I walked to the spot where a railroad trestle in Kent once stood. It was gone, and being curious and all, I drug out many maps and searched for what the trestle was.
From there, I started following railroad tracks, and studying the various companies and train traffic. I bought several railroad-related videotapes, and started heading trackside myself (to places such as Berea, Fostoria, Greenwich, etc). About a month into the process, I started videotaping/photographing trains, and through trial and error, I've made it to where I am today.
It's taken a lot of patience and practice, and I've had help from a lot of friends I've met along the way, but it's all paid off. This is a great hobby!
