this is a really nice design,please don't waste it on a heavy chassis,no more than 2600 lbs would be ideal,this way you could appeal to other segment of the market,I would offer different engine power levels.I would love to see a tube chassis with panels and sound dampener material ,light and quiet

What if you took the motor and where the tension lines attach and remove them from the rail and attach them separately to the ceiling that way they don't tweak the bar, but you can still use the motorized laser. Of course you would need to straighten the bar.

I am impressed what you are doing here! But you chose more difficult way to do this job. As for me, would be much easier to do same body from foam(like you did at first) and then finish it shapes using some filling material or putty, after that, you can make a fiberglass molds from all body parts and make nice, clean good quality parts. In the and, you need jast assemble all parts together and finish it.
