The first of my Let's Plays videos after getting my new laptop in late November 2014. Although technical difficulties happened for the first few levels due to playing it on the emulator, after a switchover to playing it on Steam and getting all the configurations for the video settings and controller pad right, this became a much smoother ride. Although there are plenty of video game franchises that I enjoy, I had to go back to playing more Tomb Raider with the 1997 release as this game I had in mind a lot so it was my first choice once my laptop had arrived and was all up and running. Definitely lots of fun going through this, even though I still hold the original game as the best in the series but this is definitely a close second.
Finally moved away from playing PS1 games and went with another all-time favourite game of mine. Have to admit, commenting on a game that has a lot of dialogue and a lot of comedic moments that you shouldn't be talking over too much was a bit of a challenge to come up with fresh comments along the way but I managed. All else to say here is, we need a sequel!
The fourth Let's Play series and the last one that I did with the 2008-2014 laptop and boy did these videos show how badly I really needed a new PC at the time. There was even a point in one of the videos where I struck on the laptop because I was that frustrated with its random frame rate drop issues that it had for a lot of the time that I was using it.
This Let's Play of mine was a particularly interesting one to me. Prior to this, I actually never played the original Resident Evil game as my original exposure to the series was REmake so I never felt the need to play the original. However, I decided it would be a fun idea to finally play it and make it a blind run, although having played the remake already, I see it as a blind-ish run so it's blind but not really since most of it I figured out what to do with my memory of playing the remake.
The third Let's Play series but this one I felt had a twist to all the other Let's Plays of Oddworld out there. I wanted to do a run where instead of saving all the mudokons, I instead killed as many as possible and only rescued the ones that I HAD to rescue due to mandatory action to progress in the game. Sadly, more technical issues occurred with the emulator and FRAPS and even now I'm still struggling to get the best recording results for a Let's Play of Abe's Exoddus. Hopefully one day, though.
The second Let's Play series that I covered. Another all-time favourite of mine and while I'm still happy with the commentary that I provided here, the technical issues I feel really brings down these videos. Either this game wasn't so emulator friendly or I was just too lazy to get the settings right to offer the best gaming performance that I could have done, although... this was all done on the old laptop that I used 2008-2014.
My first attempt at Let's Play. Originally was going to do a few levels and see how things were but had enough fun making the videos that I decided to go through the whole game anyway. That and I felt I may as well finish what I started. Unfortunately there's various issues throughout the series of my Let's Play for this game whether it be technical issues with the laptop, FRAPS or the emulator; poor video editing with some badly out of sync videos; horribly incorrect information on some occasions and other things not noted here.
That said, it was still fun to do the commentary for this game and while it's tempting to replay this game to provide better quality videos, one thing that cannot return from it is the charm of some of the unintended actions and any other oddities. Who knows, though...
