These are recordings of perfect boss fights against the evil Dr Robotnik and his legions of Badniks. The fights are recorded without any damage and no cheats or tool assistance was used during these videos.
What's a Recovery Run?: Here's the basic idea: Get to the boss, and then die. Then beat the boss (and.. what parts of the stage it forces me to do.) with the few power-ups you get from the pre-boss checkpoint.
The hardest part about the Gradius series is, when you die, especially to one of the bosses, it's extremely difficult to continue. This is what makes the Gradius series amongst the hardest shoot em up's around.
I'm starting to do these videos instead of standard boss runs, mostly because I think they look more impressive. :P Some other games also get featured as recovery runs, be sure to check those out too!
A complete playthrough of Megaman X. This is being mostly played by memory. X-Buster is used against bosses, because the game is way too easy otherwise. All items are obtained, and save states are used sparringly to save time.
A playthrough of the Megadrive game, Megaman - The Wily Wars. This game includes ports of Megaman 1, 2, and 3 plus an additional game called Wily Tower. The playthrough was recorded out of sequence but this playlist has them in the correct order (Megaman 1, 2, 3 and Wily Tower) The Final playthrough time is around 5 hours. I really enjoyed doing this. This is being played by memory, so there is one instance of me forgetting the boss order.
* As a General rule, I play all of my Lets Plays when I haven't played the games in question in about a year or so. (Or more.) I play them out of practice for several good reasons.
Boss runs are recorded with practice and without commentary.
* I accept criticism, but only for things I can actually fix. Use common sense.
* I'm human. I make mistakes. Other times youtube buggers up. And sometimes the videos are too long. Either way - check the video responses!
