Pipe tobacco reviews, pipe smoking how-to's, and discussion about the hobby and other things that may be of interest to pipe-smokers.
About Me:

I began smoking in 1994 with a tin of Dunhill's Early Morning Pipe and little GBD pipe. Right away I learned there is a considerable learning curve before reaching the point where great, trouble-free smokes are consistently possible. Pipe smoking is a hobby that requires all the practice, patience, and dedication one would apply to learning a musical instrument. While experience and experimentation is the best teacher, there are plenty of tips and tricks and bits of wisdom I've picked up along the way that I love to pass on to my fellow pipe smokers who may be new to the hobby or who, like me, have an open mind and love exploring this great hobby of ours.

Pipe tobacco is my passion. Some put all their energy into great pipe collections. Most of my focus in the hobby is the tobacco. At http://smokingpipetobacco.com I write reviews and thanks to YouTube can actually discuss the blends I smoke with you.

My first axiom with pipe smoking is "smoke what you like and like what you smoke." An open mind and willingness to learn will take you a long way, but at the end of the day, do what works for you. There is a lot of conventional wisdom out there about this hobby. Some of it bears fruit in actual practice, some not so much. My goal in my how-to videos is to pass on what actually works for me rather than regurgitate something I read in an old FAQ or pipe book.

With my reviews, I only aim to tell you as much about the blend as I can. My reviews aren't intended to point out which ones are "good" and which ones aren't. I believe the seasoned pipe smoker has no need for such advice. He or she knows what they like and what they don't. My job is only to tell them about a blend, not to push my opinion on them. However, once in a while my own enthusiasm shines through. There just aren't many tobaccos I don't like.
