ABOUT THE ULTRACOOLSIXTIES CHANNEL:
The Number One Channel for 60's videos (including some 50's and early 70's videos as well). Let's go back to when the music was great and cars, clothes and many other things looked very cool!
Since I started my first Upload on October 3, the response so far has been tremendous. So why do I do this? Well, the obvious answer except for the fact that I simply love the music and love to watch music clips from those years (mostly from the mid 60's) are the following: I dig the clothes and the looks (the 1965 version of The Byrds for example, not to mention a lot of the punk groups. And do take some time off to look for pictures of Françoise Hardy on the net from these years); the way they built the stages in the TV studios (they've done a lot of work bringing many cool things to the stage, and I'm also thrilled when the group members are standing on different levels. When you watch an artist on TV today, they simply stand in front of an audience - kinda unimaginative, isn't it?) and - please excuse me for mention this - the go-go girls, dancing all those silly (no way - compare those dances to the technical skilled but all too mechanical dancing in the videos of today) dances. And aren't those colours (the few times we get the possibility to watch a clip in colour) beautiful!
But in later years I've also realized, more than ever, what kind of marvellous arrangements we got back then. Many songs sound so "alive" and have a big sound (not necessarily the sound of Phil Spector), that makes you wonder if they recorded the songs outdoors on a mountain top. Compare them to many productions from the late 70's and early 80's, which sound as they've been recorded in a closet; there's simply no dynamic and the drum sound is very flat. And the least we say about the productions on (most) 80's stuff, the better... But in the 90's and during the first years of the 2000's(?), the sound has improved.
Another answer is that I simply want to spread what I consider to be great music, and I hope that as many as possible will appreciate it. It's great getting mails from 19 year old(young) people, writing how good this Channel is. But it's also great getting mails from, like 62 year old persons, saying that a certain clip brings back memories.
You probably wonder if I'm some old stubborn kind of fellow, who doesn't listen to music recorded after, let's say 1971, but that's certainly not the case! But I wanted this Channel to be focused on 60's music (actually from about 1955 to the early 70's). There are so many great music videos from the last 35 years on Youtube anyway.
VIDEO LOGS:
I plan to have different video logs and update them regularly. These will contain special features/subjects; such as a certain clip that I think you should watch; a clip where I want some comments or some other stuff (comments from me, etc). So this will be like a bulletine from me.
PLAYLISTS:
I've made some Playlists already. If you push "See all playlists" you're gonna see quite a few. I've tried to avoid having the same clips in my Playlists as in the Favorites section.
VIDEO RESPONSES:
Actually I'm not very keen on getting Video Respones, but if you have a response that deals with the same music as you find on my Channel, you "may be allowed". But please no "funny stuff", pornographic or half pornographic stuff (like so many videos of today) or videos with persons that I can't relate to (Britney Spears, Paris Hilton etc).
YOUR QUESTIONS:
Please use my Messenger inbox ("Send message") if you have questions of more personal nature, questions concerning TV-shows etc. But if you have a question like "How can you say that 'Love Minus Zero' is better with The Leaves than Bob Dylan"? Well, you should place these comments in the Comments section; it's always interesting having discussions.
YOUR WISHES:
Since I happen to like almost all kinds of music from these years, it's hard for me make your dreams come true. But I'll do my best and remember that hopefully I'll be staying here for quite some time, so there are hundreds of more uploads to be done.
Country: Samoa
Interests and Hobbies: WATCHING AND COLLECTING VIDEOS (what a surprise!).
WATCHING TV (not very politically correct, but who cares!), especially thrillers and some sports (especially athletics - yeah, there's lot of doping going on, but some of those football/soccer players try to cheat every match, without being stopped for two years).
SILLY DISCUSSIONS with my friends and other people.
READING (mostly thrillers by authors such as James Lee Burke, Michael Connolly, James Ellroy, Dennis Lehane (the books with the characters Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro), Ed McBain, Robert B. Parker and Ian Rankin, and biographies).
RUNNING (a strange hobby for some, but it makes you reflect on a lot of things).
LONG WALKS in deep forrests or in other beautiful areas (another strange hobby for some, but it also makes you reflect on a lot of things).
And finally SPENDING FAR TOO MUCH TIME IN FRONT OF MY COMPUTER!
Movies and Shows: They're too many to mention but my favourite actors are Paul Newman and Christopher Walken.
Music: It's very difficult of course, but here are 20 names (in alphabetic order) from the 50's and 60's that have meant a lot to me:
The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Beau Brummels, The Byrds, Sam Cooke, Jackie DeShannon, Françoise Hardy, Buddy Holly, The Kinks, The Miracles, The Monkees, Paul Revere And The Raiders, Sagittarius(The Millennium), Del Shannon, The Sonics, Joe South, Dusty Springfield, The Standells, Tages (the Swedish 60's group), Velvet Underground.

Thanks for your comment blacflag.
I've downloaded many, many clips from Youtube, too and put them on DVD's, but I wouldn't dream of selling clips that I've downloaded from Youtube. I wonder what people will say when they discover that they get a bunch of downloaded clips with quite inferior quality. But that's the way it is; there's always some idiot who's gonna use this for his own purpose.
