Okay, here we are. Closer to the end of the year. A LOT of things happened to me this year. Most of these things, were good.
One of these things was you. You? You youtubers. I often talk about it with Tim (timnlol) about this. I don't know how long this thing is going to last. If it was for me, it would last forever. It did change my life for the better. I love playing here in front of you all. I won't say more than this, as it gets touching.
But I need to thank you deeply and thoroughly, all. Especially the closer ones (you know who you are).
Despite the physical distance, there are moments in which we feel closer together. Isn't that so? I know it is so for me.
So, God Bless you all. Whatever God you feel or think there is, if any.
I will leave you with this note, found on a forum, which touched me today:
<<Well, I had a revelation some time back. I have a friend who is a fantastic classical guitarist, really one of the best in the country, though he's not really motivated to commercial ends. Anyway, he imparted this concept to me, which he had only recently learned from another old master, who was somehwat effusive about even divulging this concept. Whatever...I think it should be known to every musician. Ok, so here's the secret advice: When playing a given piece of music, the player must be thinking about the meaning of the song, not just the notes being played or the techniques applied. In fact, FOREMOST in one's mind should be the intent, the message, the emotion of the piece. (And we're talking about music without vocals here!). "Concierto de Aranjuez" is a perfect example of a classical piece that just weeps with emotion. Take it into the seventies and Led Zeppelin's "Since I've Been Loving You" has the same intensity and weeping emotion. Look at Stevie Ray Vaughn play and he's got his eyes closed half the time he's so into the emotion. Anyways, I thought it was a really neat piece of advice that has really changed the way I approach playing>>
I know this is true for me.
I really wish this will become true for you all.
There is more than playing guitar when we play. There is a lot more. Some of you know already. Some others will find out while growing up. It's you getting in touch with yourself.
I wish you the best of the positive things.
Keep on fighting. I mean, on rocking.
