Thanks for your comments Chris Martenson seems like a level headed guy. This creeping socialism combined with picking very impractical winners in the energy market is a very bad situation. The UK is going to be in a tough spot very soon regarding energy. His view of peak oil is a bit off I am deeply involved with the energy industry and the youtube/internet community doesn't know much of the nuance of this situation.

It's tough to try to be somewhat optimistic about the future, but seriously, how screwed is the world economy? A lot of people think this is "end-times." Is there any way we can get out of this mess? The strain on the world's economy and the looming environmental crisis are signs that we've overshot the planet's ability to sustain the human population. How easily could the dollar collapse, food prices skyrocketing, water shortages, and civilization tearing itself apart through violence, anarchy, and food riots, etc?
