Speed bagging is my hobby. It's something that get's me off my backside and away from the box.
Most people think the speed bag is for boxers only. Actually, anyone can hit a speed bag, whether your disabled, physically challenged, old, young, male or female. In fact, with the correct instruction, partially or even the blind can hit and enjoy the speed bag as much as anyone. And what about people in a wheel chair? No problem! You don't have to stand to hit a speed bag, it works fine sitting down. :-) It's a very diverse piece of equipment and cheap too.

By hitting the bag with fists and elbows, putting together different combinations, it will increase your eye to hand coordination. When your skills are developed and your speed increases, the bag becomes a blur, so eye control is reduced and your hits must become automatic. This increases rhythm and timing. It helps develop hand speed too! Sounds difficult, but it's not!

It doesn't matter what sport your into, if any. Lot's of sports require super quick reactions. The speed bag will improve your reaction time.
If you have never tried hitting a speed bag before, then I recommend you give it a go! I have several friends visit my home, hit the bag for 15 minutes, then want to purchase their own platform. Once you've got the rhythm, your hooked!
