Biography of Tyrone Sanders

Some people might ask, "Who is Tyrone Sanders and what makes him so significant"? Well, I am sure that no one can tell you about the person in question better than the person himself. That is where I come in. My name is, Tyrone Sanders, age 36, Black American male that was born in New Albany, Mississippi. Growing up, I was not the most popular person in school, but I had a lot of friends that I hung out with. I, Tyrone Sanders, was born to J. B. and Jewelene Sanders. As a child, I stuck to either my grandmother, Louise Penson or my favorite aunt, Maxine Parks. If I was taken away from my grandmother when I was a little child, it seemed as if someone was ripping me in half. I always loved to be around my grandparents, but I was spoiled by my Mother's Mom.

Growing up, I loved music and singing all types of songs. The songs that I listened to where mostly gospel, but I listened to R&B songs as well. Music always made me feel good and when I felt bad about things, I always listened to music. I attended church often and saw my mother and father singing in gospel groups. Singing was my way of expressing myself as I got older.

I have always figured when I would write poetry. It (poetry) comes easy for me when things got bad and up until this day, it remains the same. I learned that I had to write my pleasant poems at that time as well. As you go on, you will read a poem called, "My Poetry Days". That poem alone will explain a lot about me and when I write poetry.


In January of 1994, I married a woman that I thought to be the world's most beautiful woman, besides my mother. Although we did not make it all the way through to death, I still have a heart for Sheba M. White (Sanders). She is a young lady that gave me my first born child, T'keyah M. Sanders. When we went our separate ways, I had two other children who I love just as much as T'keyah. Their names are, Shakerrah Sanders and Jordan M. Finley.

Throughout all of these events, I wrote poetry and made a collection of over 700 poems written by me personally. I became familiar with the International Library of Poetry in 1994 when one of my wife's older friends died. I wrote a poem called, "When I Find the Light". I have been writing to them and having a great deal of fun doing it, because of that moment. Over the years, I have received several Editors' choice awards, but never anything of more value until 2006. I was nominated for Poet of the Year for 2006, Ambassador of Poetry for 2006, Editor's Choice for 2006, and 3 beautiful trophies.
The most important thing that I must share with you is, while I was growing up, I saw the character that I wanted to be when I saw my Father and Mother together. I always saw the strength that my Dad had and my Mom was filled with wisdom and Revelation. By the strengths that my Dad always displayed and the wisdom that my Mom distributed, I present this book of poetry titled, "I Got to Pay my Child Support" to each and everyone that reads this book.
