I was born and raised Amish but left the Amish culture, religion and community to follow my heart that was directing me to a better happier life. As a 3 year old I had a type of cancer that was untreatable here in the states and the Drs told my parents to take me to Mexico for treatments which was the only chance for my survival. I was in Mexico for 3 months for treatments. When I was 6 my cancer returned and this time I was treated for it in Cleveland Ohio for it. After my first chemo treatment I got spinal meningitis. when my parents got to the hospital the Dr told the the chances for me to live are very slim to none. I was already unconscious from the spinal meningitis.after considering a new medication that had never been used for anything as critical as my condition but sfter 3x the dose he said if i gain consciousness within 24 hours thers a possibility they can help me. Right on the hour 24 hours later i gained consciousness. By he time I was 8 I was completely cured from my illness. But than when I was 12 I was involved in a car/horse buggy accident that had claimed my life.The over speeding car crashed into the buggy at 80 miles per hour. I was pronuced dead. After the EMT crew tried repeatedly to bring me back to life with no success I was pronunced and reported dead. The radio had already announced I was killed when one of the guys on the EMT wanted to give it one more try to get to breathing so he pulled back the whitte sheet they had coverd me up with and beyond his expectations he got me to breathing. But at the hospital the doctors told my family I couldn't live because of the critical head injuries and other injuries I received. But modern technology at the hospital kept me breathing. My family said there were many days they wished I could just pass away because it looked so miserable with no sign of life except what the technology provided. I remained unconsciousness for 9 1/2 weeks when one day I gained consciousness like waking up out of sleep. But I was in IL. before I gained consciousness. 7 1/2 weeks following the accident I was transferred from Kentucky to IL by emerengcy squad because I was still unconscious. After I was in IL for 2 weeks is when I gained full consciousness one day like waking up out of sleep. My life continues.......
