Rob Franken was een favoriete pianist van Jean 'Toots' Thielemans.
Het eerste exemplaar van de recent verschenen CD 'Fender Rhodes' van Rob Franken reikt samensteller Frank Jochemsen uit aan Toots Thielemans, in de lobby van het Hilton hotel te Rotterdam, waar Toots verbleef voor zijn optreden op het 'North Sea Jazz Festival'
Tevens wordt producer Cees Schrama geïnterviewd over Rob Franken.

Rob Franken was a unique jazz pianist; one of the first virtuous Fender Rhodes electric piano players in Europe. Franken made this instrument into his personal trademark. He played it on at least four hundred records, and developed an entirely unique sound and style of improvising on it.
Famous harmonica player Jean 'Toots' Thielemans said about him; "I learned a lot from Rob. He had is own little system and a fantastic touch on the Fender. I practised his solos a lot for myself. His scales were not just solos. His playing was so fresh. He was new to me in those years. I think he deserved more respect and recognition."
Producer en compiler Frank Jochemsen gives the first copy of the CD 'Fender Rhodes' to Toots Thielemans, on july 11, 2009 in the lobby of the Hilton hotel in Rotterdam, where Toots was staying for his performance on the North Sea Jazz Festival. Jochemsen had also a talk about Rob Franken with producer Cees Schrama.
