Gene Roddenberry! Check out the outfits on the ladies on Space Patrol and then, years later on the Enterprise... but also watch The Outter Limits-oh my did he seem to lift things from that. I believe that Roddenberry's work, like Serlings is not respected as it used to be due to latter day fans listening to old radio shows and watching old TV programs and seeing identical plots etc.

Check out the outter Limits 1960s programs...and sifi 50s movies and you'll see where Roddenberry got his stuff.

The more I see SPACE CADET, the more I think that Gene Roddenberry lifted many of the features done here in 1950 until they became Star Trek in 1966. You have Jackson Beck's intonation line which became "where no man has gone before", and you have extreme goody-goody Tom Corbett, a both young and old thinker in one body, becoming Captain Kirk, and you have the bashing between Astro and Roger Manning with Tom being the integrator of both tempers...this being the Kirk, Spock and McCoy trio that powered all their adventures as well.
