	veriappelsiini (10 months ago) The definition for inflation is roughly: the increase of money supply minus the economic growth. To put it simple: this year economy produces 100 apples and the money supply is 1000 units. One apple costs 1000/100=10. Next year new way of producing apples is invented and the economy produces 103 apples. However, the money supply increases to 1100 meantime. Thus the price for the apple is 1100/103=10,67. Inflation is: (10,67-10)/10 = 6,8%, not 10% which is the rate of the growth of money supply.
