The foundation of learning to read. You don`t build a house without first building a foundation. You don`t teach a Child to read without them first mastering the 26 letters of the Alphabet Phonetic Awareness Sounds. Don't Go Pass Go because if you fail them here you fail them all through School. If the Child can't read then the Child can't even Pass a Math Class. Don't Fail Them Here. You can build your Child a strong Phonetic Awareness Foundation in one week just by teaching your Child to sing the song from the second video in playlist 1 and 2 by ( Barbara Milne). What you want to do is, get your Child to sing that song just like you taught them to sing the ABC song. Guess what; the number one priority for reading is done, now all you got to do is play some of the other videos In playlist 2 to strengthen Mrs. Milne song. You are now ready to move on to step 3. Now if you don't teach your Child another thing; at least you have given the Class Room Teacher a Child they can teach a lot easier.
Step 3 In Blend Phonics Is The First Step of Teaching Directional Guidance by Blending the 5 Short Vowel Sounds in a CVC Or Consonant Vowel Consonant Layout. Some Kids See Words From Right To Left; You want To Point Your Childs Brain in The Direction that we Read, From Left To Right. Example, If You show your Child the word (MAP) you don't want your Child to see (PAM) instead. This is the most important step in the Whole Blending Process because this step Points your Childs Brains in the right direction which allows the Child to see that Blending Letter sounds Makes words. Once you see your Childs Brain going in the right direction, you are on your way to Teaching your Childs The Whole Blend PHONICS Process in about 3 to 4 Months at which time you will have a Kindergarten who can read on at least a second to third grade level.
Now that you have got your Childs Brain thinking in the right direction with step 3. It time to build on what was learned in step 3 by introduce the Child to Final Consonant Blends that can be added to the end of a word. This step is very important because it's also the first introduction of two letters making a sound.
Step 5 Of Blend Phonics is About Introducing your Child to Double letter sounds that start at the beginning of most words, the H Family Sounds. This step is very important because it deals with 1 of the 4 letter of the Alphabet, that when combined with other consonant, makes up about 70% of the Double Letter Consonant Sounds that’s found at the beginning, middle and end of most words. The Other 3 or R, L, S FAMILIES, R family like BR,DR,GR, L Family Like FL, CL, GL and S Family like SN,SM,SP …ect, Which I will cover in Later Steps. The objective here is to get the Child to see that 2 letter together can make one Sound at the beginning of a word. Now if you gave your Child a solid Reading Foundation to stand on in Step 2, then pointed your Child in the right direction in step 3 and showed the Child 2 Consonant together making 1 Sounds at the end of words in Step 4. Then this step is going to be a piece of cake! You or well on your way to producing a child that will become an Independent Thinker. What you are doing here is producing and Independent Vocabulary word building Child. There’s 2 way to teach reading, you can stand over the Child’s shoulder and tell them every word, which is only going to produce a dependent Child waiting on someone to tell them what the next word is. The dictionary has over a million words. Now on the other hand if you help your child develop the understanding of ONLY 44 Sound that makes up every word in the Dictionary, your child will stand over your shoulder and tell you what the word is. This Child is an Independent Vocabulary word builder, whose reading lever is going to be 2 to 3 grade levers higher.
