So last January Rod and I decided to do the 52 week savings challenge. We figured we could use that money we save to go towards Christmas gifts for ourselves and our families. After hearing so many touching stories through the year we decided it sure would be nice to buy ourselves gifts, but it would be even a greater satisfaction if we gave back to others who are less fortunate. So while others celebrated Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping we went out to the streets of LA and OC to find people who could use a care package. So from November til December we carried these care packages in our cars and as we drove around and seen someone who could use a bag we would stop and give them one. To us this was the best well spent money! Seeing the people we gave a bag to and the smiles on their face was worth it. We can't wait to start saving again for this coming year and we hope to double the amount of care packages. We hope more people will do this and help out their community and give back!
