Announcing The Sky
May 22, 2009 multi-platinum singer songwriter Robert Fleischman will be unveiling his new band The Sky at the National theatre in Richmond, Virginia. Upon his induction with Journey to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, his desire to perform live was inspired. After auditioning his native town of Los Angeles for musicians, Robert decided to look into a different circle of players. LA session drummer Andre LaBelle, who played with Robert in the past with KISS guitarist Vinnie Vincent, had relocated to Virginia. Robert soon discovered that Richmond was exploding with talent. Upon flying perspective players to Vegas for auditions, Robert decided to develop the band in Virginia. Holding down the rhythm is Andre LaBelle and Steve Barber. The guitars are provided by Stephan LaJaunie and Brady Cole. The sound these five musicians have created is an atmospheric chemistry with a driving punch that could be compared to the likes of Oasis, The Verve, or the more psychedelic sounds produced by The Cult and Bowie. The Sky is excited to debut this fresh material for the city of Richmond at this historical Theatre.

Just watched the post from Alley Katz. 11/7. Great song but the microphone was too close to the drums. Was it a sound check? I would have liked to hear the vocals a little better. Again, Great Song. It's so nice there is someone out there making real Rock and Roll !!!

Thank You Mr. Fleischman! BTW, I checked out the "Back in the streets" demo with someone else singing it (Joe something....) and MAN! What a world of difference your voice added to that song! The higher melodies in the first verse and the sheer range period. Not to put the earlier person down, but what a great improvement you made on the soul and power of it all. Also what THE HELL was up with Slaughter-Boy going Milli Vanilli on the "Boyz are gonna rock" video???? All these years I had never seen it until today and WHAT A LAUGH RIOT!!!! (not the biggest Slaughter fan,,,,) He even pantomimed the grace notes......man, how disappointing. Thanks again for your channel comments! Truly a blessed voice. I am a huge VVI and Journey fan. "Back on the street" is one of my all time favorite songs strictly because of your voice. (the gtr. solo is all over the place but hey......) anyway thank you for coming back brother, you are one of the greatest!

hey,i went to see VVI back in 87 in dallas,at the time it was my favorite band,and i was so excited to hear this singer belt out these tunes i had been jamming to for a while.when the lights went down and the band started rocking i was so let down to see this chick singing and i said where is fleischman?
found out later the chick singing was mark slaughter! lol

If you look at the 1977 footage, you will see that it was Robert who invented the moon walk. Michael Jackson did that years later. I think that the clip that shows this is "Diva".
