About Me:
POWERAGE first tasted success in 2005 winning a major talent competition on Channel 9's National Rugby League' "Footy Show" in front of 15,000 screaming fans at the Sydney Entertainment Centre where Powerage went on to win the entire competition. With a range of influences ranging from Led Zeppelin, 30 Seconds to Mars, The Foo Fighters, Paramore, Jet and Wolfmother, the band has worked tirelessly not only to establish and grow their own sound but to deliver a consistent, tight high energy live show every time.
With a packed itinerary of gigs and supports for the likes of Matchbox 20, Australian bands, Thirsty Merc, the Screaming Jets and Grinspoon under their belts, including live performances on 2MMM's Ugly Phil program Channel [V] and ABC's Rage, POWERAGE surged to a massive crescendo in December 2008, taking out the title of "Australasian Best New Band" in the internationally-recognised Global Battle of the Bands tournament. Representing their country, the members of POWERAGE performed in London against 35 bands from around the world, taking out 2nd place and winning the hearts and souls of all present.
Since that time, POWERAGE has gone from strength to strength releasing their First EP "Get Ready" and music video "Let's Jam" in March 2009 to great reviews both here in Australia and overseas.
Adding to this in 2010 Powerage were voted best school age band at the Australian Music Oz awards and within a month also won the prestigious Youth Rock 2010.
