"@matreyia Agreed! I tried to persuade my student not to follow this path, but alas...he could not resist. Please understand that his environment is filled with many intolerant people who believe this story literally...it was a form of release for him, but I urged him to stay focused on the parallels with many other early literatures. "@ArachnesNeedle Well...I agree! This is the work of my student, and I warned against the polemic and that it is kind of a linebacker beating up a baby to pick on Bronze Age thinkers the way he did. Still, he was and is so excited about it...He makes these points he makes...but I won't argue that it is incomplete at best...but it did make me laugh at points...how about you?"

By Amber Kroening through instruction by Professor Rev. Dr. James Kenneth Powell II, opensourcebuddhism.org I like the beginning, which suggest, whatever you think of Jesus, he is big! Nice music (almost) overwhelms the narration, which is crsip and clear. A definition of pacifism arrives. Gandhi emerges as a first interpreter of Jesus as pacificist. Martin Luther King Jr. too, saw him that way. Crisp clear images, nice transitions. Contrasting the Hindu avatar notion, we see the Gospels emerge as evidence. John is distinguished, rightly so. Nice panning/cropping. Jesus' birth is discussed. A bit much time spent on Jesus' birth and off topic. Pacifism from Matthew arrives, and "turn the other cheek" emerges. "Love your enemies" and "all who draw the sword die by the sword". All from Matthew. Gandhi and King saw it this way. Gandhi said if only the Sermon on the Mount, I would be a Christian. King the documentary says, saw the New Testament as metaphorical, not literal. King viewed him as a pacifist. The counterarguments then follow. Those two the documentary claim (but I would dispute) view the Bible as fable. An argument for the trinity follows (a bit off topic) and an egg analogy is offered. Son, Father and Spirit are like the shell, white, and yolk. The Old Testament tells the people to go to war often, and there is no argument on that with this reviewer. Lots of war and violence, question is, does the abolition of the Law also entail a mercy and grace and peace that distinguishes Jesus from the Hebrew vision? I think so, otherwise, give me Moses and Muhammad! An argument that the Old Testament was actually Jesus as God -- definitely a faith statement. What about all the "You have heard it said, but I tell you, an eye for an eye..." etc.? The early Christians as pacifists come up next. Yoder is cited as another advocate of early Christian pacifism. Then we get the "Just War" argument. A war for self-defense is offered by Augustine and Aquinas. War is acceptable, but only under certain guidelines. Legitimate authority is a reason. I love all the rationale for war that follow; very complex! Jesus indeed speaks of the end times and wars at the end...but he simply predicts it...does not say he advocates it. Paul, not Jesus, is again cited to say that we should obey the government...yet Jesus was tried by the government. Kingdom theology tells us that God rules all, but through the secular and divine realms. A dualism of worlds as we have always seen in the Christian faith. Martin Luther, who supported the crackdown on the Peasant's Revolt, advocated violence too. Odd, that the Catholics wanted him dead too! Fantastic you got all from Wikimedia commons! Congrats! Oddly, just as I told my atheists, they made persuasive, even convincing documentaries, I was not convinced. You made the best case possible...really thorough, but in the end, I go with Gandhi and King...you see Amber, that is why I hold Jesus in such a special and high regard: he was not like most humans...he transcended the bounds of hate, revenge, tribalism...for me this is the reason for the season: love! And war is never loving....super job,

by Aaron Dack through instruction by Professor Rev. Dr. James Kenneth Powell II, opensourcebuddhism.org Super intriguing intro...music is great, questions are great: Who is Jesus? Teacher? Sorcerer? Son of God...etc. The narration is clear, video very nice. The ancient prophecy from Chronicles points to the author, to Jesus. Nice panning/cropping. The Jews expected a physical kingdom. The commoners and the religious sects: notably, Pharisees and Sadducees. Nice transitions. Much of this is chronicled with extensive quotes from the New Testament. Caesar is then discussed. Romans were exposed to Jesus' teachings too. A Roman centurion witnesses Christ's death and points the way to the appeal of the movement for Gentiles. They saw his great power we see. "Christ" means "Messiah" though. The Apostles are then discussed, notably Peter. Many left in unbelief, but not the disciples. Super narration. Who believes in Jesus believes not in him, but God who sent him. Gives rise to think in Muslim terms that he saw himself as a prophet. Miracles and some more nice sunset video, and the miracles prove his divinity. Nicodemus the Pharisee, shows that some Jews in the establishment, believed he was Messiah. The resurrection of Lazarus offers more proof.. throughout, the entire project supports statements with text from the New Testament and Old. The Isaiah passage though, actually says in Hebrew: "A young woman shall conceive" and the virgin birth, a later Greek/Roman interpolation. The innocence of the Messiah is predicted by Isaiah. The genaeologies of Christ are aptly displayed through the panning technique. Those who believe will be saved in this genaeological genius. We see in this projects source citations how Christ becomes equated with God, through Paul's letters, who never knew him. The "body of death" points to Platonic philosophy in Paul. Very inspiring music and visuals at the end. While I will continue to see Jesus as a great Martin Luther King type man, you really put your heart into this. You made the classic Christian case, Jews will of course, disagree. I love it Aaron, your accent might've been even better than your narrator's, though he was excellent! Super inspiring ending. Adam was great. Sources -- excellent, and ending music, well, let's just say, Jesus would've like it!
