so we took a random last minute seattle trip to gameworks today and we noticed the "brand spanking new" ddrx machine...so i gave it a whirl...i had marie get my last song: TERRA's 'doll' on expert...i haven't played for awhile, so i wasn't willing to do oni...

video quality on a blackberry's not so hot...

pros: nice big screen, i think it's playing at 720p, so you can actually see the arrows scroll up, the usual surround sound they use with every didder machine...(they could've turned up the volume though)...i guess there's also a usb flash drive input (i guess for the ps2 equivalent) and a e-amuse card slot...although it never prompted me to buy one...
difficulty was set to easy so you can BS through harder songs like psmo or faxx (i watched some guy BS his way through chaos oni and barely survived)...you can clearly see at the end, i didn't bother with the piano steps and it barely affected my life bar.

cons: the pad SUCKS. there's only one sensor on each pad, so your foot has to be in the exact middle with alot of pressure on it or else you'll pad miss or lose your freeze...i'm the type of player who can hit the corner of a pad (1st-SN2 style pad) and still get at least a great, so this was a big annoyance...you can see me NG freezes even though i had both feet on the pads....it's like trying to fix something that wasn't broken...

song selection: i really didn't see anything from X's playlist worth trying out...i ended up playing older songs from SN/SN2...angelus is really fun to play though. however, 'u can't touch this' was completely hilarious to play, although the steps were crap and didn't really match the music.
