For that all the countries near Russia rather kiss USA ass in NATO then risk being enslaved and eventually exterminated by Russia. It is not a choice between good (USA) and bad (Russia) but a choice between quite bad (USA) and extremely bad (Russia). For that Russia as a state has only itself to blame. By the way, I personally dont support or approve of American Capitalistic Imperialism and I live in France, EU. All countries had to arm to be safe and all Imperial powers did bad things, but they admit that what they did was unfair. I dont see Portugal, Spain or Britain and to some extend, but not completely, France crying about their lost empires and pretending like it was a good humane and fair thing to do. However Russian politicians still want their empire or no? USSR was worse than Nazi Germany.

I like Russians as people and I like Russian culture and lots of people in the world admire Russia culturally. But you must realize that ever since the Duchy of Moscow managed to free itself from the Mongols and started calling itself Russia that its foreign policy was that of extermination and enslavement of all neighbouring countries and cultures that surround it. Tsars did it and Stalin took it to another level altogether in USSR (technically just a different name for the Russian Empire), if truth be known Hitler would look quite mediocre when compared to old Joseph Dziugashvil (?).
