我們早已選擇了自己的路 -- 「正視七一遊行市民的訴求」動議辯論發言稿
曾蔭權在昨天(2009年7月7日)立法會答問大會結束之前，突然向主席曾鈺成表示，有幾句話壓在心底，想說出來，他根據已寫好的「貓紙」，壓低聲調，裝模作樣表示：「香港社會的核心價值，包括理性和包容的精神，政見不同亦要互相尊重；20多年來，立法會建立的政治文化傳統就有這樣的精神，這亦是香港成功的基石，是值得維護及珍惜的。」他不點名的譴責社民連的議會抗爭「嚴重破壞了有關精神」，並促請議員及市民想想，這是否香港人所選擇走的路。
克林頓夫婦當年涉及「白水案」，《紐約時報》專欄作家沙斐爾在文章中說第一夫人希拉莉是「天生的說謊家」。克林頓在回答記者的詢問時笑著說：「當你是總統時，所受的限制比普通人多。如果我是普通人，我會讓這篇文章得到它應得的懲罰。」1
統治者不要說捱罵，就是遭誹謗，也不能發作。曾蔭權是一個小圈子特首，當然沒有克林頓的胸襟和識見。
在民主社會，「容忍比自由重要」，但是所謂包容，必須建基在平等的基礎上，曾蔭權作為特首，大權在握，他的權力不是人民賦予的，他的高薪厚祿卻由納稅人的支付，他應要包容議員的抗爭，並虛心接受批評，怎麼可以要求無權者包容權者的倒行逆施。曾蔭權要求社民連包容他，跟中共提出建構「和諧」社會之「家長政治」心態同出一轍，就是要求議員做奴才。曾蔭權可以無視雷曼苦主跳樓死，卻對無能高官論功行賞頒勛章，社民連當然要抗議！
馬丁路德．金牧師說：「一個真正和諧的社會，不是爭議的消失，而是公義的彰顯。」自二零零三年以來，數以萬計，甚至十萬計的市民在酷熱的高溫之下，堅持參加七一大遊行，就是因為公義得不到彰顯。貧富懸殊、民生凋敝、施政失誤，民眾的合理訴求，多年以來均不能得到政府的尊重。公義得不到彰顯，民意得不到尊重，曾蔭權有何資格要求議員及市民尊重他﹖
20多年來，所謂「立法會建立的政治文化傳統」，議員甘心按照不公平的遊戲規則，循規蹈矩跟政府理性討論，結果是姑息倒行逆施的政府，令民主運動變得一池死水。政客的鄉愿、犬儒不是香港成功的基石，而是香港民主發展窒礙難行的主要原因。
曾蔭權批評社民連的議會抗爭「正好嚴重破壞了有關精神」，若不以人廢言，他說得也是，社民連就是要破壞腐朽的和稀泥
精神，衝擊不義的制度。社民連選擇議會抗爭的道路，2008年立法會選舉中，十份之一的選民也選擇支持議會抗爭的道路，今年七一大遊行，市民也選擇高喊「曾蔭權下台」及「曾蔭權仆街(不該)」的口號。
有調查2顯示三成市民認同「曾蔭權下台」，對曾蔭權政府非常不滿意及愈來愈不滿意的市民合共近五成。在民主社會，三成人民認同領導人要下台，已足以令政府陷入不能管治的「跛腳鴨」狀態，曾蔭權在立法會不公義的分組投票制度的保護下，才可以繼續作惡。現在市民已經選擇了自己的路，曾蔭權等待接招吧！
