sorry folks - i'm just alarmed recently by the sheer number of youth online praising 'father' and all his 'good works' and giving me shit for being uninformed while purposely blinding themselves to the easily verifiable facts concerning this dangerous man and his 'church'. and it's not just kids. hell - it's not just moonies! it seems like everything in america is now debatable strictly on faith; doesn't matter if it's whether or not moon is an arms dealer, or does the us military engage in torture, or was war with vietnam a good idea, or is forestry as it's practiced harmless - now everyone's suddenly an expert and it's 'what i believe, facts be damned!' and i'm supposed to respect that!? the unquestioning deference we are taught to have for different religious points of view has leaked into the politics of this country; we have been delivered into a land where anyone can say anything they want, no matter how ridiculous, and we are expected to respect their opinions. i think it's most dangerous allowing people lean on this supposed right to believe whatever they want in the face of obvious evidence to the contrary. frankly it's begun to turn me into some kind of fascist : )
