About Me:
 
Handy Yacinthe aka MonstaPop was raised in a strong dance environment at an early age, he comes from a family of dancers, starting with his mother and his brother. He did not find his true passion until he started experimenting with the bboying collective called Area 51. In dancing, exchanging, creating, battling and getting down wherever he could, Handy became quickly inspired by Montreal's dancing community.

He is a versatile dancer with a strong focus in poppin. His poppin skills were refined with the help of a few instructors: Fon deVuono Powell (NYC), Terrence "Hitmaster Fish" Williams (California) and Frank "Frank Boogie" Luisi (Canada).

Credentials:
Monstapop's artistic concepts were of assistance to the famous french rapper Booba, in his "Garde la pêche" video. MonstaPop has choreographed for "Juste Pour Rire", with the great Franco Dragone (director of Celine Dion's production "A New Day") and for several Cirque du Soleil's productions.

He became the poppin choreographer for the project Retrospek -- an amalgamate of dance and theater presented by Unkut productions. He has choreographed for Irratik dance troupe at the Hip Hop World Championship in 2007 and 2009. Helping them in both years to reach 2nd place at this international competition.

Monstapop's king tut style choreography were used in several routines, including a tutting routine used by Bluprint Cru, a team from Montreal that placed 2nd in MTV's America's Best Dance Crew television show.

Monsta than decided to put the focus of his creativity in his own company, making him co-founder of Stairway Dance company.

However large his achievements, they are but a simple step on his long journey. For, his greatest accomplishment resides in his zealous passion for dance. He is an artist created by the vision of a creative metropolis.

Oh haha Actually I was just born in Ontario thats my hometown, i live in British Columbia now. A lot harder to find popping teachers in Penticton(where i live) but Vancouver is close by and I know you were there for Last One Stands. Whcih I gotta say, Finals were my favourite!

Things are good man! My crew might be going commercial... my only fear is that we will loose street cred. but we are going to keep our street integrity if we make it big. Just watched a couple of your battles... are you living in the west coast right now? What is new with you what are your goals with dance?
