Monkey Records was founded in the year 2000, and is dedicated to releasing and promoting innovative New Zealand music both at home and internationally. Originally specialising in ambient and downbeat music we have broadened our scope to include world, acoustic, folk, indie pop, funk and electronic releases. However, we prefer not to pigeonhole music by genre and would rather just say that we release beautiful music from New Zealand.
