That's what the problem is. Prior to globalization and free trade communities were self sufficient. Farmers cannot compete with cheap imports so they are basically driven off of their land. Huge agribusiness and other businesses such as wal-mart dump massive amounts of cheap goods into local commuities and drive independent companies out of business. Business owners making good wages are now forced to work minimum waged jobs at sprawl mart and farmers are forced off of their lands. This destroys communities, drives unemployment, increase stresses on social programs, etc. all because big businesses deter competition. If the west wants to curtail poverty, unemployment, etc. they need to allow local economies to grow and produce real wealth and employment.

Clearly, you have never read the Communist Manifesto. The final stage of the movement is when socilaism transitions into communism and brings on the anticipated dissolution of the state, which is not whereby abolished, but simply ceases to exist because it is no longer necessary. Communism thereby has no government, "pure communism" as it has been called as of late (Marxist theory) is a stateless and anti capitalist society.
