Why exactly are University of Michigan students working to propagate the male genital mutilation known as circumcision? You are aware that circumcision removes the most sensitive part of the penis, is incredibly painful, and risks include loss of the entire penis and even death? You are aware that it is IMPOSSIBLE for a baby to give consent to this procedure? You are aware that babies are NOT sexually active?

One of your 1 day, 100 projects videos is especially disturbing. Although it is disguised as an HIV preventative measure, designing genital cutting devices is not an acceptable use of resources.

Please re-evaluate the logical framework behind cutting off part of a person's body in order to stop a behaviourally transmitted virus, especially when more effective measures are already in place.

This money and time should be spent on education, on sending condoms and people to explain condom use and otherwise dealing with the CORE issue. Anyone who can be convinced to cut off one of the most sensitive parts of their body can also be convinced to put on a condom.

Do not let ethnocentrism blind your institution.

With so many inspiring projects, it is a shame to see the day marred with such a harmful, misleading proposal.

Glad you liked the video (we've got about a hundred other student teams and orgs).
There are some good resources on the U-M website -- it looks like admissions will take the ACT or SAT scores. But go to these links to find out more... http://www.umich.edu/prospective.php

Good luck -- hope to see you on campus in Ann Arbor!

Hello! Definitely interested in this school and currently doing applications now~!

This is a random question I guess, but if I didn't take ACT's, could I still apply and hope to get accepted?

P.S. The Formula SAE videos you guys have is SO inspiring!
