τα χρόνια μου είχαν ρίζες ήταν δέντρα
που τα 'ντυσε με φύλλα η καρδιά
και τ' άφησε ν' ανθίζουν μες την πέτρα

Δεν έκανα ταξίδια μακρινά
οι άνθρωποι που αγάπησα ήταν δάση
οι φίλοι μου φεγγάρια ήταν νησιά
που δίψασε η καρδιά μου να τα ψάξει

μικρή πατρίδα σώμα μου κι αρχή
η γη μου εσύ ανάσα μου κι αέρας

σε όνειρα σ' αισθήματα υγρά
το μυστικό τον κόσμο ν' ανασάνει
