http://www.Stream... - BOULDER, Colorado. Gail Loveman's 11-year-old cat named Zeus usually stands tall and hisses when he sees a squirrel outside his owner's home. He wasn't as much of a tough guy when the animal on the other side of the glass was a mountain lion.

Loveman tells The Denver Post the encounter lasted about five minutes before the mountain lion wandered off from her house near the foothills west of Boulder. Loveman says she was in her home office last Thursday when she heard a noise and turned to see the mountain lion on the porch.
Zeus entered the room and walked to the sliding glass door for a closer look while Loveman snapped photos. Loveman went upstairs and spotted a second mountain lion. She says both jumped a fence and left.

http://www.Stream... - Credits to AFP. At least 138 people are dead after a 7.2 earthquake struck eastern Turkey yesterday, the country's prime minister says. The quake has killed at least 217 people and injured 350 in eastern Turkey, Turkey's interior minister Idrsi Naim Sahin said, with 117 deaths in the Ercis district alone and 100 in Van province. An earlier toll had given 70 dead including 50 in Ercis, a district of around 100,000 people in the same region as Van.
The situation in Ercis is more grave, said Turish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, adding that many apartment buildings collapsed, raising fears that the toll could increase. 80 multistory buildings had collapsed in Ercis with people trapped inside 40 of them.
The quake that struck Van, a large eastern city populated mainly by Kurds, was Turkey's strongest in years. Many buildings collapsed in Ercis and Van, officials said. Earthquake-prone Turkey lies atop several fault lines.
Television footage showed panicked residents using shovels and other digging tools trying to rescue people trapped under collapsed buildings in Ercis and Van. Search and rescue teams were using electrical generator lights to help the search for trapped victims as the night fell.

http://www.Stream... - Horrible! At least 32 people have died and 132 injured after a bridge collapsed at a political event in India's tea-producing region of Darjeeling. More than 150 villagers were standing on the bridge for talks by local separatist leaders on Saturday night when it collapsed. Officials say the victims fell at least 70ft (21m) into the fast-flowing Rangeet Khola river.

The army, fire brigade and police helped residents in the rescue effort. Up to 60 people were rescued on Saturday night, but the search on Sunday was mainly focused on areas down river, reports say. People had gathered in the village of Bijonbari, 30km (20miles) from Darjeeling, to listen to speeches by leaders of the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) party.
The GJM is fighting for a separate state for the tea-producing Darjeeling hills. "A cultural programme was being held on one side of the bridge, while a meeting was being held on the other," GJM General Secretary Roshan Giri said. "Too many people were standing on it when it collapsed and they fell into the river below."
Darjeeling District Magistrate Soumitra Mohan said on Sunday that the death toll had reached 32, with 132 wounded. At least six children are among the casualties. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said her government would do "everything it can" to help the victims and their families.
The bridge was reportedly built in 1942, and is thought to have been weakened by a magnitude 6.9 earthquake that shook north-eastern India, Nepal and Tibet in September.
