While the international community pushes for sanctions against Libya over Muammar Gaddafi's brutal crackdown - his son, Saif al-Islam, says everything is normal.
He says the problem lies in the eastern regions.
In the city of Tobruk close to the Egyptian border, there is no presence of security forces.
The province of Cyrenaica is also in the hands of pro-democracy protesters according to Franco Frattini, Italy's foreign minister.
And it is the same situation in the western city of Misurata where army officers have reportedly thrown their weight behind calls for Gaddafi to go.
Tripoli is said to be on virtual lockdown - it has always been Gaddafi's stronghold .

A Libyan military aircraft has reportedly crashed near the city of Benghazi after pilots refused to bomb peaceful pro-democracy protesters, reports say.
The pilot and co-pilot had refused bombing orders and parachuted out of their aircraft in an uninhabited area.
A Libyan daily says the plane had orders to bomb the city but the crew refused to carry out the deadly mission.
This comes after Libyan tyrant Colonel Muammar Gaddafi pledged to crush the popular revolution in the oil-rich country. The government has even used air raids to suppress persisting mass demonstrations.
This is while government forces are losing grip on the country amid the ongoing revolution in Libya
Soldiers in the coastal town of Tobruk, which lies close to the Egyptian border, say Gaddafi's forces have lost control of the region.
They say they no longer back the Libyan ruler. Protesters have over-run the eastern province of Cyrenaica.
Meanwhile, military defectors in eastern Libya are reported to be mobilizing to defend the people against possible attacks by Gaddafi's forces.
The dictator's military forces have even used air raids to suppress demonstrations.
Many governments and international bodies across the world have reacted strongly to the crisis in Libya.
Reports widely indicate that government-led violence in the country has left at least one thousand protesters dead over the past several days.

Today in the disorder of social inequality in the under developed countries the consumption of Kcal lies between 8000 and 15,000 per person daily. While in Europe and America its lies per individual from 160,000 to 240,000 Kcal daily. The misery of the 3rd world individual and the immeasurable prosperity of the privileged western world have never shown such provocative inequality.
Of the commodities of nature and technology produced on our earth, a privileged 20% consume 75% of those goods. While all the remaining unprivileged people struggle to survive with the remaining 25%.
Without work health and education you cannot be considered a citizen of this planet. On the other hand without justice or morality you cannot be considered a human of this planet.
Therefore a basic objective of those governed on the planet earth is for citizens to live as human beings and for human beings to live as citizens so the struggle for progress and justice can substantially create new forms of production an consumption and for a new model of international economic class that will ensure the prosperity of world societies yet to be created.
