This video is dedicated to Mr.Minoru Inagaki, one of the top classic guitarists who passed away June 24 2013 in Akashi Japan, for his passion and dedication to classic guitar music, and also his warm-hearted cozy performances.
Len Williams arranged 11 Spanish and South American songs for two guitars and published in 1956. Here you can listen four pieces including Salamanca, El pano Moruno, Tutu Maranba and Cubana. Recorded by TS and Lute323 in Matsukaze Gallery Kakogawa Japan on March 17 2014.
These pieces were also played by us at Phenix Hall in Osaka Japan on March 22 2014 in the memorial concert for Minoru Inagaki..
Inagaki and Jean Raymond recorded these pieces in Paris, France in early 1980's. The LP recordl No is BNL 111403. These recordings were reissued in their most recent CD titled "Kizuna", or bondage. Inagaki also recorded these duet with Matsumoto in their CD titled "Italian Concert".
I got to know these duets when Mr Inagaki presented me his first album recorded in France, Ever since I have played some of the pieces from these songs with my former guitar partner in early 1990's, and then all eleven pieces with TS, a present guitar partner since 2007.You can find the rest of the seven songs in our following two videos.
We hope that you enjoy these charming guitar duets arrenged by Len Williams, the father of world famous classic guitarist John Williams who was born in Australia, grew up in London and retired this year. What a shame that John did not record these his father's arrangement, although he recorded a plenty of marvelous records, CD and Video's..
