A new version of the famous "Swanee River Boogie" as played by Albert Ammons. I started in C then tranposed in F to enhance the quality of this number. I find it fits well to such a number playing it with different keys. Hope you will like it.
Converted in MP4 in order to get a better quality of picture and sound.
Enjoy it and keep swingin' and rollin the piano.

My new composition is a tribute to the Boogie woogie piano and all giants who were the pioneer of such an art like Ammons, Johnson, Lewis and many others.. It's a dedication, also, to the new generation of the greatest European pianists who bring me a lot of help and continue to promote the Boogie woogie performing all over the world.

The second part of the genuine boogie I composed two years ago in June 07. You are a lot who watched it and like it. I thank very much each of you for his message about this number. Even those who think its fake !!! :)) Sorry, it's true, playing on a real piano with a real pianist....myself. I decided to compose a suite for this number, with new patterns of left hand and riffs on right hand in the mood of the original part 1. Same tempo and new chords that I did not played in the previous version. Enjoy it and play it !

A nice song played by Albert Ammons and The Ryhthm Kings like he did with "Lady Be good" or "Roses of Picardy". Actually old folkloric songs turned into Boogie woogie. Note than the part of the piano is mainly played with typical Ammon's riffs and piano boogie patterns. The melody, originally, was played by an amazing trumpet in the beginning of the number, then saxophone follows. Albert gives a crazy beat with his play of boogie piano, exposing several 32 bars of the song like crazy after horns! I tried to offer a mixture of the whole song played by the orchestra making the boogie piano clear enough and closed to the Albert's version; introduction is not so easy to do...one have to rehearse a while. Enjoy this video!
