About Me:
There's a trend (often associated with atheism, although certainly not true for all atheists) to affirm "nature to be right". That's reasonable enough, but still, it's like saying: shit happens. This is, to me, a fundamental mistake. From a human viewpoint, it is more logical to resist the 'right' of nature, and evolution if you want, to be meaningless. Human logic is not the same thing as following the COLD 'logic' of nature. Also, some people tend to make science a partner of nature, but then again: I claim science to be MY partner, because we invented it - 'nature' did not. Do you see what I mean? To take the exact sciences for the 'whole truth' about 'us' is ridiculously simplistic. We humans are not 'exact', we are the ones who INVENTED exact. We cannot be reduced to our own theories - that's much like committing philosophical suicide. It is all a matter of holding in high esteem the human being. With evolution theory, more of the same: I accept everything about it - as I accept all things science. Try to make me a creationist and I will tell you where and why you err. But still, Genesis 1 has a huge merit here: clearly the ancients understood something about the unique position of the human being - very unlike 'nature' (and, of course, unlike the Richard Dawkins breed of atheism). I despise the anti-thought of the new atheists - but I love those - including atheists - who do a better job. Fortunately, most atheists are far more human than their 'atheism' would suggest. Talk with them reasonably, and you will discover.
I've lost Christian friends who didn't understand my position. But I think they should have tried harder. I have many good contacts with atheists - true. So what? To be honest, I don't consider atheism a very challenging way to look at life - but all reasonable people should be treated respectfully. If I dislike an atheist it is for the same reason as why I dislike a particular breed of 'Christians': when irrationality and arrogance starts to stir up the mind, errors are only discovered at the far end of a pointing finger.
As a believer, I choose sides will honest people. Oh, and some Christians may ask: what about gays, lesbians, bi etc? Is it: "Gods word says this Gods word says that"? Of course not - because people will judge my words, not the accuracy of my bible quotes. Keep it real. You also won't hear me saying bullsh*t such as: "I love gays/lesbians but I hate their sin" - eh, I beg you pardon?? I must have missed the "hate part" in Jesus' attitude I guess? Jesus got angry only with 'religious' people, remember? My position is more like this: I am definitely a Pro-Lifer, but I also do understand the need for love in human beings, and I have a duty to address that with dignity. It is not possible to judge properly if you don't even understand either compassion or passion. To improve our world requires engagement of a different kind than just always being judgmental. "Do not judge, lest you may be judged". And in the end, it is about those 2000+ often ignored bible verses about helping the poor, the hungry, anyone who has needs. As Peter Hitchens (the Christian bro of atheist Christopher Hitchens) wrote, in his book The Rage Against God: "religion is the one reliable force that stands in the way of the power of the strong over the weak" - I think he's right. In that, I resist nature, economy, materialism and physicalism.
Being a Christian, for me, means: I want the ceiling of my reality-room to be an open rooftop. I am an 'agnostic Christian', meaning: I don't pretend to own answers. Yet, I own my questions. An open mind is an invaluable gift to mankind. I love religion already for its contradictions, because... contradictions invoke new questions - and all of this is the hallmark of reality, the hallmark of being... human. I can't be a true Christian if I can't be a true human being to begin with. But I can't be truly human if my worldview starts with a statement of denial. I cannot deny that I am... different, and want to make a difference.

How are you? I hope you're not going too hard on the atheists. ;)
Hugs,

I just discovered your channel. I'm not a Christian but a Muslim who's also interested in things like philosophy and matters of science and religion. I think you've stated some very impressive and high ideals in your 'about me'.
I like the fact that you've avoided the polarisation that seems to be perpetuated in the media nowadays regarding matters such as these.
Hope to enjoy more of your workl...:)
Peace,
~AK47~
