you said "people and art won't fix anything" but i see people and art being sort of equal parts in a trinity of solutions for any problem. the third being innovation. so i guess it's just art, (including free speech) and inovation being free, rather then suppressed. since people will be the ones to use accellerated condensation and create free or super cheap energy and make an asteroid/comet defence system, wouldn't people also be a major part of fixing things? like making food and other resources rather then just taking them, started over 10,000 years ago? that sounds like helping to me, we just need to get rid of our bad seeds more often to tip the scale to lots of help.
