Many people have asked about my nick name "Xtian". Let me explain...
"Xtian" is NOT a shorted form of Jesus Christ, who is my Lord and Savior.
The "X" in latin stands for 'To delete, cancel, or obliterate' (i.e. kill, crush & crucify). Everything that I am is represented by "tian" which in latin means 'to hold, grasp, have'. Sooo...
Its a reminder that I need to keep dying to self (give up everything I hold & have) and follow Him. Its that whole "less of me, more of Him" thing.

Just a few scriptures to consider...
John 10:16 "I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd."
John 10:27 "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."
Hebrews 3:15 "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion."
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
Act 17:30-31 "The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead."
Rev 2:5 "Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent."
If your walk is void of repentance & growth, then something is wrong - pray for Him to reveal what it is, so you can leave the wide path and have Him direct you steps on the narrow road.

As a military member I deeply respect that you're not dragging around your years of service as some appeal to authority. Honorable service says a lot about the man and his character, but it is completely irrelevant in religious debate.
