I do have a couple points of criticism, however.
1. A heat gun should have been used on the heat shrink tubing. Using a lighter is somewhat dangerous business, as the flame can melt or ignite the insulation on the wires as well as ignite the heat shrink tubing itself.
2. Soldering quality. A desoldering tool such as vacuum tool or solder braid should have been used to remove the LED from the yard light and to clean up the old solder. The new wires should have been inserted through the holes and soldered with fresh solder instead of ghetto-rigging it by pushing the wires into the old solder.
