Aww...c'mon now, be fair...the way a smile is drawn shouldn't ruin an entire show for you! Yeah, the smiles look like "V"'s, but it's just how that style is. I mean, it's meant to be simple, and it's weird why the did that with mouths, but I'm just saying to let it go and not distract you.

Sorry if I'm sounding preachy, but I just feel that way with anime. Personally, I don't judge it on animation (Kaiji has a really bizzare style, but it's such a really well made show), but focus on the technicalities of the show: The voice acting, the plotline, how interesting it is, etc. But, thats just me :\

Hmm... Im gonna have to disagree: In anime, teen angust is rare in newer shows. The last real one I remember that had a character going thru the "Bratty" phase was FLCL, and that was made almost 10 years ago. Plus, seeing as tho the only action the series will be have will be the 1 minute earthquake, it cant be helped that character development plays a strong role.

I never really expected this show to be impressively original; nothing mch can be done with the disaster genre. There are other shows this season that will be fresh and original. This will just be a simple coming-of-age story, nothing groundbreaking. It should just be enjoyed like a summer action flick, and you should take what you can from it...and even if it wont be as deep as Eden was, hell, I'll love it just as much.

PS: I thought the animation was ok. Simple and fluid...but i never found it distracting. There's far worse out there, man.

I agree, it would make things pretty interesting...but I was actually wondering if he did erase his memory again (willingly, that is). I mean, what's there to stop all those involved from telling him what happened, and also before he becomes king? Maybe he actually regained all his old memories and remembered something terrible. It sure is a mystery, so hopefully the first movie will be as awesome as that first episode.

(NOTE: By "TWELVE more episodes", I mean "12 Average paced episodes", not 8 eps + 12...)

Hm...I would say that, yes, more questions were created, but not without a majority of big ones answered. On top of that, rather than questions being unanswered, I believe more theories were brought up as well. (although thats not to say there werent a ton left unanswered thru-out its run). For example: Why is it that in the moments Saki and Micchon left the cab, it spent an abnormal amount of time on the driver? Well, when the driver is compared to the outline of the supporter shown in a previous episode, it's very similar...and also the man appears rather old, which brings up another theory that Mr. Outside isn't dead (although that was already predicted by a lot of people).
