About Me:

Hi and welcome to my YouTube channel.

My name's Derek and I've been a music fan for longer than I care to remember! My first recollections of soul music are Shirley Ellis The Clapping Song and Big Dee Irwin's Swinging On A Star (that drove me mad). After that and more significantly I discovered Motown and then 60's/ Northern Soul and the Soul Scene and then R&B, Blues, slow stuff etc as you do!

I worked for several different record companies back in the 80's and began to appreciate the likes of Springsteen, Southside Johnny , Ry Cooder, The Smiths, Echo & The Bunnymen and Van Morrison and still do!!

A friend bought me my first soul cd back in the 90's a strange concept I thought at the time! She also got me into Soul on t'internet so here I am. Hope you enjoy the tunes. here

"Been there, done that, still got the dog (thankfully) :-) - the plonkers posting negative comments have obviously never owned a dog!"
