In a truly free market without government regulations and such this is impossible. Lets say there are 10 companies. Company A charges 200 a month for 2000 dollars of coverage. Lets also say that the base costs are on average 50 dollars a month for the company to run itself. And the max they can provide at 50 dollars is 10,000 dollars. Well instead of Firm B,C, D and on raising prices and lowering coverage, they will instead lower prices and increase coverage. Why is this? Well because they would lose business to Firm A of course. Gradually prices and coverage will work their way to the equaliberium price of 50 dollars a month for 10000 dollars of coverage a month.

All of these are theft and destruction, mis allocation, and squandering of capital and resources. Now, as with all monopolies, the prices will rise and the quality will fall. You say that private insurance companies are out for profit so their prices will rise and quality will fall. This is an ignorant and asinine statement, and quite the contrary is true.

Now onto your argument that somehow the monopoly of universal healthcare will somehow increase coverage and lower prices. Lets first say that it did. Who is paying for this? All this is being payed for through taxation, borrowing, or printing.

PrinceLordChris, your statism blinds you to the truth. The constitution does not permit slavery in any way, shape or form. Like most government institutions it ignored the constitutions strict rule over the government. The government instead created segregation and laws against minorities and black people.
