It is important that each one of us in our lives does all we can to set an example of integrity, hopefulness, faithfulness and charity among our neighbors, at the same time standing firm on our principles. Solutions do not come from above; they come from the grassroots, so, as always, it is the duty of ordinary Americans to protect their liberty & nation.

I am using the term "totalitarian" in its literal sense: "a government in which the political authority exercises absolute and centralized control" (Princeton WordNet) Totalitarian government does not necessarily mean killing and imprisoning people arbitrarily, but it does mean having the unregulated power to do so.

The protests in Iran and the violent response should be a clear enough indicator for you that using the term totalitarian to describe our government is utterly ludicrous.
