Hi everyone. I'm Chuck. A quick thanks to my two friends- Risikovontod for keeping clips #5 & 6 up all this time, and KletosApostolos for getting my channel up and putting all this on here. He's working on getting clip #4 back up, which will complete the original total of six originally posted on youtube.
I stopped playing guitar in July 2006 (with a recent exception to record for Scott West in September 2008). These clips were done in 2004, and I think one in 2005.
BUT- I picked up my guitar here recently, so I guess we're on speaking terms again : )

Now, everyone has a different philosophy regarding their YouTube channel and how they run it. I've thought about it and I've decided I'm going to go with the tyrannical overlord angle, blocking and deleting at will. Why? Because that sounds like the most fun way to run it : )
And for me, that's what my channel is about. Keeping it fun : )
About Me:

FAQ:

Q. What kind of guitar is that??!
A: I don't really know. It's an old Epiphone made sometime n the 1960s. Most people tell me it's either a Coronet or a Wilshire.

Q: Did you speed up the vids?
A: Nope. In fact, I was playing with one of those steel banjo thumbpicks, and I tend to be a little clumsy with them. They slow me down slightly. It was all I had with me at the time when these clips were made. My typical picks are plastic thumbpicks which I modify a bit.

Q: Clip #1 sounds like noise! It's so unmusical!
A: YES! You're right! I was just warming up because I was playing cold.

Q: Couldn't you get a better tone?
A: Not with what I had with me at the time. I was playing out of an old 1980s model Crate 15 watt practice amp. It has no extras, no tubes- not even reverb. The clean channel on it is deadpan, so I just had to crank the distortion for some bit of sustain. You could probably find an amp like this at your local pawn shop for around $20

Q: Can I get these songs somewhere?
A: Sorry, I'm afraid not. These were just things I programmed into a friends Boss Jamstation the day before they were filmed. It was just demonstration material- I had no idea someone would want them. Wish I had thought about that...

Q: Why did you quit playing?
A: These clips were made in 2004/2005. I stopped playing in July 2006. To make a long story short, I simply burned out. In truth, I've never been a consistant player. Many times I have walked away from it. This just happens to have been my longest sabbatical.

Q: Are you going to play Pro again?
A: I don't see that in the cards. At heart, I am a hobbyist, and I think as long as I keep it on that level, it works for me. I may make albums and play locally, but I never want it to be my entire career again.

Q: What if someone offered you a lot of money? Then would you play again?
A: Um..YES! Forget all that stuff I just said : )

Q: My friend is better than you, and you suck! I bet you're not even really playing!
A: : )

Final note- Clip#3 seems to be everyone's favorite. Epiphone via Votigo.com had a national guitar contest in 2007. I submitted the clip and it ended up winning. I just want to thank all of you who voted for it, and thank Epiphone and Votigo. I sincerely appreciate it : )
