Israeli policies affect Palestinians as well as people all over the Middle East. It has tremendous nuclear abilities and its lobbying in the United States has resulted in a number of expensive wars that the Arabs pay for in blood.

So the crimes committed by other Middle Eastern regimes (which I am well aware of) pale in comparison.

I find that most Ausralians are pretty ignorant about what's happening in the Middle East but those who do have an opinion are fairly divided. Over the last decade the left wing movement has been strong. They see Islam as the under dog and are naive enough to sympathize the extremists. Recently however, we have seen a bit of a turn around and its good to know that Americans are waking up to the situation too. The liberal movement allowed the rise of Nazism, lets hope that this time the world will know better.
