fantastic vids... cleared up a few things I was reading about in a couple of diy books.

how would one ad ribs to piece? for instance if one were to do a bonnet or something with a large surface area, the end product would be all flobbery. What is the best method for adding flanges? can the infusion method be used to create the main surface and then another method be used for attaching the ribs? or does the main surface and ribs need to be done at the same time?

great videos!
i have an old 80's BMW spoiler that the original maker is now gone. it is rubber as best i can tell and likely foam in side.i have 2 cars for it, and want to first off mold it and then make 2 carbon fiber spoilers for my two cars.
it is about 40 inches by 10 inches by 10 inches.
considerations are: i can make a cast for the top and rear. but then my cast has an open bottom. could i fill with foam and then a skin of CF for the mounting bolts and the bottom of the piece?
i assume 3 steps--make mold, let cure trim. install foam . , then make the bottom. might it be better if the bottom was bonded on to make it a 2 part structure? i cant work out how to make it one piece with foam filling.
a two piece hollow CF structure would be fine i bet. make top then make bottom piece with mounting hardware embedded.
thanks in advance for any solid ideas and help.

i spotted some bubbles on the surface ... try applying the gelcoat in one direction from one end to the other and move the brush only in one direction

what do you need the scales for??? can you measure the resin by volume?? just because a plastic or glass jug would be cheaper if i dont have scales. thnx
